Just wanted to give everyone an update that the bug list has been narrowing slowly here and we are planning to resume new development by early next week. Thanks for all those finding bugs and all of those with the great ideas for improvement and changes for Woven. We couldn’t do it without you. If you have not received a reply to your beta request – you will be getting one this evening. Thanks!
After a longer than expected holiday break we are back to work on Woven. I am getting to all our new Woven beta participants and they should all be in the system by tomorrow. We hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday season and look forward to working with you in the new year!
Just a note from Woven that we will be taking some time off over the Holiday season and we wish all the best to you and yours! We will post again when we return! Thanks!
We here at Woven have been fixing bugs that our beta testers have found and making improvements to many usability areas. We now have a youtube channel at www.youtube.com/thewoven and a flickr group at www.flickr.com/groups/thewoven. Check out the youtube channel for all of our instructional videos and join our flickr group to share photos / videos.
Our goal is to use tags within the flickr group to create fabric line reference pages (with photos of the individual fabrics, fabric information, the ability to quickly add to stash, etc) for use within Woven. If anyone knows flickr members that have lots of good fabric photos (photos of the fabrics themselves and not projects made with the fabrics) please encourage them to add their photos to the Woven group photo pool. We may do something with projects at a later time, but we want to start with the individual fabrics. Please tag your photos with the name of the designer, manufacturer, and the print name when you add them to the pool. This will make them appear on the fabric reference page corresponding to that fabric line. If you have any ideas on this feature, please add a comment below or let us know on the discussion boards (www.thewoven.org/wboard).
Another concept that goes along with the previous post on flexibility is groups. A group is basically a collection of stuff that is in your stash, library, etc in Woven. What would this be used for? Well it can be used as a shopping list, a wish list, a way to organize, etc. This feature was requested quite a bit for many reasons, and if you have specific uses that require additional information just let us know.
