Join the office of communications at the NYU Gallatin School, and be part of a vibrant community of faculty, administrators, students, and alumni as Associate Director of Communications, Strategy and Editorial Content Planning. NYU Gallatin recently celebrated its 50th anniversary as a rigorous, interdisciplinary liberal arts research and teaching institution. We seek an Associate Director of Communications who will join us in continuing NYU Gallatin’s trailblazing work.
The Associate Director of Communication will report to the Chief of Staff and focus on holistic, audience-centered, compelling communications for the larger school community, with a special focus on bringing attention to Gallatin faculty research and scholarship in new and innovative ways.
The Associate Director will work in partnership with teammates to develop and own the larger editorial calendar, creating clear goals for audience segmentation for NYU Gallatin, and project managing content development across its various channels to reach those same goals. The role is situated on a larger team composed of Events, Communications and the Gallatin cultural spaces (theater and galleries). The Associate Director will help to tell a new, refreshed story about Gallatin, working to aggregate and amplify the wide range of exciting events and programs taking place at Gallatin during the academic year.
The successful candidate will bring a demonstrated commitment to the mission of interdisciplinary liberal arts education; significant experience in communications; proven skills in project management and prioritization; experience in the higher education space is required, and experience working with faculty is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong writing skills, the ability to communicate complex information orally and in writing, and should enjoy forging partnerships, building relationships with both internal and external constituencies.
